There's a bright golden haze in the meadow
The corn is as high as an elephant's eye
And it looks like it's climbing clear up to the sky
Well mine is it stands about 8` 6" and at last it has tassles on the cobs I was getting worried

Whatever variety of sweetcorn are you growing? I hope the cons aren't beat the top.
